Detailed List of Clothing:
- Underwear: Your regular underwear is fine.
- Long Underwear: Polypropylene or wool — not cotton. Bring at least two pair.
- Wool Socks: The warmth, cushion, and absorbency of thick wool socks are important. There is nothing worse than wet feet. Bring several pair — enough to change your socks each day.
- Pants: A synthetic pair like Polartec. They don’t absorb much water, are warm when wet, and dry quickly. Bring one pair other than what you are wearing to be used as a reserve.
- Shirts: Warm long-sleeved wool or synthetic. Cotton soaks up water and becomes cold and uncomfortable. Bring one or two.
- Other Shirts: Short-sleeved or T-shirts. Bring two or three.
- Comfortable Shoes: Sandals (Tevas, Chacos, or Crocs) are great for use around camp. Most of the time you will be wearing rubber boots that we provide.
- Fleece Jacket: This is your insulation layer.
- Synthetic or Down Jacket: This is very nice to have at camp at night, especially if you get cold easily.
- Rain Gear: Please bring Gortex rain jacket and pants.
- Warm Hat: Should be wool or synthetic and cover ears.
- Gloves: We provide neoprene paddling mitts. Bring one pair fleece or liner gloves to wear at camp to keep warm.
- Shorts: Bring one pair just in case it’s sunny.
Personal Gear/Equipment
- Sunglasses: One pair — polarized sunglasses allow you to see into the water.
- Binoculars: For wildlife viewing.
- Medications: Please bring any medications you depend on.
- Toiletry Items: Toothbrush, comb or small brush, personal items, disposable razors, etc. It is best not to bring sweet smelling perfumes, sprays, and lotions — they might attract bears.
- Miscellaneous: A cap with sun visor, sunscreen, bug spray, camera, extra batteries, bandanna, small towel or washcloth.
